McAlpine Lake and Walking Trail

McAlpine Lake is a designated youth fishing lake created to better serve the general health and welfare of the municipality. The lake has a designated walking track surrounding it and now links to the walking track adjacent. Thanks to a grant from the MS Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and in cooperation with Wildlife MS and the Dalrymple Foundation, new signage, trees, benches, bike racks, newly paved path, and more may be utilized by our citizens and visitors.

History

McAlpine Lake is the sight of a former brickyard. From the 1890s until the 1920s, McAlpine Lake was the site of a brickyard owned by L.H. Tubb. In 2001 and 2002, the Dalrymple Family Foundation funded the renovation of the 2.5-care McAlpine Youth Fishing Lake.

Regulations and Rules are posted on the signs near and around the lake. Here are a few:

Fishing alowed during daylight hours.
